Mrs. Karen Sanders, Team Leader and Learning SpecialistIt is hard to believe that I am beginning my fourteenth year at MSJH. Prior to that I taught high school: a year at Charleston High and seven years at Rantoul High School. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree from Illinois State University and my Master's Degree from the University of Illinois. My primary focus for the past few years has been language arts and math, but this year I am branching back into science and history.
I was born in El Paso, Texas. I loved living in Texas and rarely saw snow until I moved here. My father was in the military and as a result I began my school years going to a military school. I have two sisters and two brothers. My parents reside in Tennessee and take care of one of my sisters who is profoundly handicapped. I am married with two sons and one daughter. I also have four grandchildren. When I am not at school, you may find me working out at the gym, reading, playing with my grandchildren, or searching for different technology ideas to bring in the classroom. |
Mrs. Brittany Immormino, English Language ArtsThe 2017-2018 school year marks my first year at Mahomet Seymour Junior High, but not my first year teaching. I graduated from North Central College in Naperville in 2007, worked for Lisle Junior and Senior High Schools, and most recently taught at Franklin Middle School in Champaign from 2013 until 2017. In January of 2013, my husband, Andrew, moved us to Central Illinois for his job; before that, we lived in Naperville so it was quite a change for me to move down here. Currently, I live in LeRoy, but I do think I earn some points for having a bulldog lamp in my room instead of a panther lamp. The current numbers at my house are 3 crazy dogs (Gracie, Shelby, Rico), 2 goofy girls (Olivia and Gianna), and 1 patient husband (Andrew.) My family loves to do things outdoors. We fish, climb, hike, camp, bike, and the girls will often help me garden. We also love to spend time with family and friends, including making large meals to share. I love teaching and am passionate about my job, but I am most passionate about the middle grades. I am looking forward to getting to know all of them on 7 Blue this year! |
Ms. Emily Patrick, MathematicsThis will be my eighteenth year teaching math to middle school students (I have also taught science, social science, and reading at various times in my career), and my third year at MSJH. I enjoy teaching 7th and 8th grade students, and like to find something to laugh at every day while we learn.
I am from Sullivan, IL which is about an hour southwest of Mahomet. I loved growing up in a small town, and when my son was getting ready to start school we decided to move in order to allow him a similar experience. I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, hanging out with my friends, and sharing my life with my three sisters. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, hiking, camping, kayaking, traveling, reading, and interacting with architecture. |
Mr. Jordan Lietz, Science and HistoryThis will be the beginning of my sixth year at MSJH. I began as an aide in science and history classrooms throughout the school and now teach both subjects for the 7th Grade Blue Team.
I am from Champaign, Illinois where my mother was a teacher for nearly 30 years. I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in Physical Education with teaching endorsements in P.E. and secondary History and Science. I love teaching, and being able to help as many students as possible. I love my new wife (I got married this summer), my two nephews, being outside, Illinois basketball and football, and relaxing when the time allows. I'm excited for this school year, and getting to know the students on 7th Grade Blue. |
